Udinese comeback stuns Liverpool in Europa League

Udinese rallied for a 3-2 win at Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday night, joining fellow Italian teams Inter Milan and Lazio in gaining their first opening-round wins victories in this season's competition.

Trailing 1-0 at halftime on Jonjo Shelvey's 23rd-minute goal; Udinese stunned the five-time European champions when Antonio Di Natale's 46th-minute goal, Sebastian Coates' 70th-minute own goal and Giovanni Pasquale's 72nd-minute score. Kuis Suarez scored for Liverpool in the 75th.

Lazio heads Group J with four points following a 1-0 winover visiting Maribor on Ederson's 62nd-minute goal. Tottenham is third after allowing Jose Toche's 77th-minute goal in a 1-1 tie at Panathinaikos. Michael Dawson had put Spurs ahead in the 36th.

Anzhi Makhachkala and Udinese have four points each, and the Russian team leads Group A on goal difference after beating Young Boys 2-0 on a pair of goals by Samuel Eto'o.
