Pet Policy - Adoption.com Forums

An interesting twist to this question... We have no particular pet policies in our state. Just utd on shots, friendly, no history of biting, etc. Great since we have a very, very large dog who is the friendliest creature on the planet.

However,..... We decided to adopt another dog and would you believe it? The pet adoption agency refused to let us adopt any dog that had a drop of pitbull, rotti, or other so-called 'vicious' breed in its bloodline. Due entirely to our foster parent status. I get it and all, but I found it to be somewhat ironic. The county really didn't care, but the pet rescue wouldn't let us adopt that kind of dog because they didn't want to risk any problems down the road that would cause the county to EVER point their finger at the pooch screaming, "PITBULL!"

So, at the end of the day, DH wanted a boxer mix. But most of them are mixed with pit - or look like they could be. We ended up with a Heinz 57 with no 'vicious breed' bloodlines at all (somebody paid to get a DNA analysis on one of the sibling pups).
