Why do I write about health and fitness??? ?Good question!!! ?
My journey to health and fitness started after I had my first daughter at 19, I didn?t pay much attention to anything healthy up until that point in my life. ?At 19 I started weight lifting, rollerblading and running, I was instantly hooked! ?I loved the way exercise made me look and feel, for the first time in my life I felt fit and healthy.
I loved health and fitness so much I became a certified personal trainer at 20. ?I loved training clients but I wanted to make more of an impact in the health field so I decide to go back to school to become a registered nurse. ?At 28 I graduated from nursing school and began working at St. Francis Hospital on an open heart unit. ?I fell in love with cardiac nursing and eventually moved on to my current job in home health care as a tele-health nurse (basically, I set up monitors that transmit a patient?s blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and oxygen level to our office daily so we can try to prevent re-hospitalization). ?Home health nursing allows me to educate patients on their disease processes (diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, etc.) and through this education I can give them the tools to lead the healthiest life possible.
I love educating and inspiring people to live a healthier life and this is the number one reason why I write about health. ?In my field of work I see first hand what happens to people that neglect their health and if I can inspire or educate even just one person to live a healthier life then I am happy. ?I am lucky enough to get to do this everyday in both my full-time career as a nurse and through my blog. ?Unfortunately I cannot help everyone, but I always do the best I can every single day.
I write about health to educate, motivate and inspire others to live a healthier life!!!
