Benjamin Shine?creates incredible portrait with single large piece of transparent Tulle fabric in his art ?Painting with Fabric?.
The idea of ?painting with fabric? led to the development of this technique where the portrait image is created through the intricate pleating and pressing of a single length of tulle fabric.
The technique aims to utilise the translucent qualities of the tulle fabric to generate various gradients, tones and textures.
For the second year running 2012, The Australian Export Awards have recognised Benjamin Shine for international achievements in the field of Arts and Entertainment.
Benjamin Shine?s Tulle Portrait of Elizabeth Talyor is on exhibition at the Arcol Art Exhibition in Monaco which runs from the 4th-10th September. The piece is one of the first created at this larger size, measuring 120cm x 160cm.

Installation with Tulle
Created for the ?In Another Light? Exhibition at London?s SCIN Gallery during London Design Week 2012, ?Hands of Time? is constructed from over 50 metres of tulle fabric. Tones and textures are formed by sculpting, pressing and pleating the fabric with an iron.
Echoing the ethos of the SCIN Gallery, which showcases the latest materials and surface textures for the design and architecture industry, the subject of surface texture is explored through both its construction and the wrinkled details of the weathered, elderly hands.
